Zabriskie Point in the Funeral Mountains of Death Valley National Monument provides an inspiring view of the erosion-sculptured and colorful badlands.

Ubehebe Crater is the largest of 7 volcanic craters in the northern end of Death Valley National Monument.  It is 1/3 of a mile across and 800 feet deep.

Death Valley is a desert valley that is one of the hottest places in the world at the height of summertime along with deserts in Africa and in the Middle East.

Although it as been contested by some, Death Valley's Furnace Creek holds the record for the highest reliably recorded air temperature in the world at 134 °F (56.7 °C) on July 10, 1913.
