I read on-line that this was the Tivoli Beer Garden, a place for wine, coffee, cakes and concerts. The sender wrote that this is where her and her friend had coffee. She wrote that it is a beautiful place all lit with those fairy lights. ?? It's hard to read, but that's what it looks like.

Was this card sent to England, by chance? The Brits call those lights 'fairy lights'.
ReplyDeleteIt was sent to Scotland. :D
ReplyDeleteI have recently discovered my great grandmother's Diary from the same year. Spending a year in Hannover, age 17, She speaks of the Tivoli fondly.
ReplyDeleteWow Lucy! I am not sure if I would want to read my grandmothers diary. But if given the chance, you know I would ;-)
