Utah - Slot Canyons

Slot Canyons in Utah...

Slot canyons are created over millions of years as stormy waters rush through narrow crevices beneath soft sedimentary rocks. The opening of a slot canyon is only a few feet wide at the top and can descend down 100 feet revealing smoothly carved walls. Utah contains the largest number of slot canyons in the world. Visitors must use caution when observing the canyons - a desert storm can turn the dry canyon into a raging river.

Story of Winnie the Pooh - Winnipeg Canada

Winnipeg Canada

Located inside Assiniboine Park Zoo in Winnipeg is the statue of Harry Colebourn and his black Bear cub "Winnie". It was while on his way to Britain to serve in WWI, that Harry bought the young bear from a trapper in White River, Ontario and named him "Winnie" short for his hometown of Winnipeg. Winnie was donated to the London Zoo where he was often visited by a boy named Christopher Robin Milne. He liked Winnie so much that he named his own stuffed bear "Winnie the Pooh", inspiring A.A. Milne, the boy's father to write the famous "Winnie the Pooh" Children's stories.

This Postcard Factory postcard was mailed with 93 Canadian flower stamp in 2007.

As vibrant as the Grand Canyon itself, this flower's blossoms open with the morning sun and close when dusk falls. This stunning annuals saucer-shaped petals blanket the canyonland with deep orange and bright yellow hues, delighting the eye with both color and form, so impressive, so delicately beautiful.
