Lomnický štít (Lomnický peak) is one of the highest and most visited mountain peaks in the High Tatras mountains of Slovakia. Connected by cable car to Tatranská Lomnica, its summit is 2634 metres above sea level, making it the second highest peak in the High Tatras after Gerlachovský štít.
Since 1940, tourists have reached the peak by cable car, which was the most modern in Europe at the time of opening. It is also possible to climb the peak from Lomnický Saddle, but this is only permitted with a mountain guide.

Delft Blue - Erik de Graaf
postmarked in 2011 with a stamp featuring 'Postcrossing.com' - The people who started postcrossing are the same people who sent me this postcard! It is from the first sheet they bought in Amsterdam :D

Postcrossing is an online project that allows its members to send and receive real postcards from all over the world. The project's tag line is "send a postcard and receive a postcard back from a random person somewhere in the world!” Its members, also known as Postcrossers, send postcards to other members and receive postcards back from other random Postcrossers. Where the postcards come from is always a surprise.
As of Oct. 2011, I have received over 2,000 postcard via Postcrossing, or from swapping with other Postcrossers. One of my favorite things about postcrossing, other than receiving all these wonderful postcards, is the 'meet-ups'. They are held around the world and you get to meet amazing people who share your love of sending and receiving postcards.

The Battle of Fredericksburg was fought December 11–15, 1862, in and around Fredericksburg, Virginia, between General Robert E. Lee's Confederate Army of Northern Virginia and the Union Army of the Potomac, commanded by Maj. Gen. Ambrose E. Burnside. The Union army's futile frontal assaults on December 13 against entrenched Confederate defenders on the heights behind the city is remembered as one of the most one-sided battles of the American Civil War, with Union casualties more than twice as heavy as those suffered by the Confederates.

Reindeer Festival in Nadym, Russia
There is no translation on the card, however I did find out that these are traditional Nenets (an indigenous people of Russia) Reindeer skin tents put up in the town of Nadym as part of the reindeer herding festival. From the little I can find out, there is fighting and roping and other sports in the extreme north weather that Siberia has to offer.

Altea is a town and municipality located in the province of Alicante, Spain, on the section of Mediterranean coast called the Costa Blanca.
At present, the economy of Altea is based on tourism, which started to grow in the 1950s because of its good weather, beaches and the labyrinthine streets with whitewashed house-fronts that characterize the town. Altea is protected on the north by the bluffs of the Serra de Bèrnia, creating an especially mild microclimate.

Santa Claus Land, Indiana
The major greeter for Santa Claus Land, is this jolly old get, who waves to every visitor, both young and old, as they enter the grounds at Santa Claus Land. This statue has been photographed more times than any other statue of Saint Claus in the world. This is an impressive monument to the patron saint of children, who brings joy to the world, and specially at Christmas Time.

Santa Claus, Indiana, is a town located in Spencer County in Southwest Indiana.
Santa Claus, Indiana, was established in 1854. In 1856, when the town (then known as Santa Fe, pronounced "fee") was working to establish a Post Office, the US Postal Service refused their first application as there was already another Santa Fe, Indiana. Several town meetings were held, during which the name Santa Claus was selected.
The town has the world’s only post office to bear the name of Santa Claus. Because of this popular name, the post office receives thousands of letters to Santa from all over the world each year. A group of volunteers known as "Santa’s Elves" ensures each child receives a reply from Santa Claus; this tradition has been around since at least 1914.

Lufthansa's Rolls Royce Turbofan Engine

The turbofan is a type of airbreathing jet engine that is widely used for aircraft propulsion. A turbofan combines two types of engines, the turbo portion which is a conventional gas turbine engine, and the fan, a propeller-like ducted fan. The engine produces thrust through a combination of these two portions working together. Engines that use more jet thrust relative to fan thrust are known as low bypass turbofans (like most modern military engines), while those that have considerably more fan thrust than jet are known as high bypass (like most commercial aviation jet engines).
