Mary Pickford (April 8, 1892 – May 29, 1979) was a Canadian-American motion picture actress, co-founder of the film studio United Artists and one of the original 36 founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Known as "America's Sweetheart","Little Mary" and "The girl with the curls," she was one of the Canadian pioneers in early Hollywood and a significant figure in the development of film acting.

This is a standard postcard size piece of original water color art done by Victor Davila that I bought at MegaCon 2013 in Orlando Florida.  He also autographed the back for me.  I love his fun loving take on characters.  

I made a postcard out of it by adding two 'discovering space' stamps to the back and mailing it to my PO Box.

Victor Davila is a freelance illustrator and designer from the Orlando area, as well as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida. He has worked on everything from character designs for film and animation, to editorial illustrations, interactive games, and childrens’ books.

Elk Horn Arches in Jackson, Wyoming

This very unusual arch located on a corner of the City park in the center of Jackson contains 5,000 horns collected in the area.  This arch built in 1953 is 25' wide and 16' high.  The Jackson Hole Wyoming lettering in the center is on Moose Horns.

There are one of these elk-antler arches at each corner of the park.  The horns are collected from the nearby National Elk Refuge by Boy Scouts and the arches are periodically rebuilt by the Jackson Hole Rotary Club.

Regensburg is a city in Bavaria, Germany, located where the Danube and Regen rivers meet. Regensburg is the capital of the Bavarian administrative region Upper Palatinate. The large medieval centre of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The first settlements in Regensburg date to the Stone Age. The Celtic name Radasbona was the oldest name given to a settlement near the present city. Around AD 90, the Romans built a fort there.

The Pony Express was a mail service delivering messages and mail from St. Joseph, Missouri across the Great Plains, over the Rocky Mountains and the Sierra Nevada Mountains to Sacramento, California by horseback, using a series of relay stations. During its 18 months of operation, it reduced the time for messages to travel between the Atlantic and Pacific coasts to about ten days.  From April 3, 1860 to October 1861, it became the West's most direct means of east–west communication before the telegraph was established and was vital for tying the new state of California with the rest of the country.

The Pony Express was a mail delivery system of the Leavenworth and Pike's Peak Express Company of 1849 which in 1850 became the Central Overland California and Pikes Peak Express Company.

The route started at St. Joseph, Missouri on the Missouri River, it then followed what is modern day US 36 (as seen in the above postcard) – the Pony Express Highway – to Marysville, Kansas, where it turned northwest following Little Blue River to Fort Kearny in Nebraska.

The back of this autographed print was blank, so I added a few stamps and mailed it to my PO Box to make it a postcard.  I used some vintage stamps that looked like a boy looking a two zombies!  Granted, it is the spirit of 76, but still ..... what do you think??

Michael Koske is an American actor who portrayed numerous walkers on AMC's The Walking Dead, including Callaway.

He is living and working in Middle Georgia. His zombie likenesses have graced the pages of Entertainment Weekly, TV Guide, The Walking Dead Official Magazine, the cover of The Ultimate Guide to Zombies, Rolling Stone Magazine, and most recently, the cover of TV Guide. He has also appeared on USA Network's Necessary Roughness, the movie The Crazies, the Kevin Bacon pilot The Following, and he most recently worked on Hunger Games: Catching Fire, as well as being featured in the independant zombie film - Level 7 to be released winter 2013.

The Walking Dead is an American horror drama television series. It is based on the comic book series of the same. The series stars Andrew Lincoln as sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes, who awakens from a coma to find a post-apocalyptic world dominated by flesh-eating "walkers", resembling zombies. He sets out to find his family and encounters many other survivors along the way. The title of the series refers to the survivors, and not the zombies.

Oklahoma City Cotton Compress

Cotton Compress, Oklahoma City, Oklah.

Oklahoma city is the capital of the recently created state of Oklahoma.  It is the principal city in that state.  During the cotton season thousands of bales of cotton are brought to the compress to be compressed in bales so they may be shipped over the entire world.  A bale of cotton weighs about 500 pounds.

Land of Oz, Emerald City in North Carolina

Joyful Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion reach the end of the Yellow Brick Road and arrive safely in Emerald City at Land Of Oz, atop Beech Mountain, Banner Elk, North Carolina.

The Land of Oz is a mostly now-defunct theme park (only opened for the first weekend of October each year) located in the resort town of Beech Mountain, North Carolina. It was opened in 1970 by Grover Robbins, and was fully operational until 1980.

Visitors could take a walk down the Yellow Brick Road, "experience" the cyclone which struck Dorothy's house, and visit with the Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, the Cowardly Lion, and of course, the Wicked Witch of the West. The Yellow Brick Road led (inevitably) to a show at the Emerald City where the characters met with the Wizard. Finally, an artificial balloon ride (a specially modified ski lift) allowed visitors to get a bird's-eye view of the park and breathtaking mountain scenery before leaving Oz.
