The Hindenburg's initial flight
This card was carried on the Hindenburg on its initial flight from Freidrichshafen to Lakehurst, N. J. It is mailed to you with the compliments of the Tide Water Oil Company, whose product was selected to lubricate the giant ship
World's largest Zeppelin selects Veedol
The four Diesel engines of the Hindenburg, capable of developing 4200 hp., are lubricated by Veedol. Proved by over a million air miles of service in the Graf Zeppelin, this finest of Pennsylvania oils now continues in the Hindenburg.
This selection is another tribute to Veedol's inherent quality. You as a Tide Water dealer may take a just pride in selling this oil to your customers.
This is postmarked from Hamburg with a Zeppelin stamp on April 25, 1936 and arrived in New York on May 9th, 1936.
This is one of my favorite postcards in my collection.

Share reprint from DaimlerChrysler
A reprint of a share from DaimlerChrysler (Automobiles)
the fine print (I think, it's VERY small and hard to read):
fully paid and non-assessable no par value registered share(s) at DaimlerChrysler AG, Stutgartt, pursuant to the terms of its Articles of Association.
The numbers identifying the share(s) represented by this certificate is/are noted in the share register.
A transfer of the share(s) represented by this certificate will be registered in the share register upon application and presentation of this certificate, properly endorsed or accompanied by a duly executed form of assignment. The share(s) represented by this certificate is/are transferable at the Head Office of Deutsche Bank AG in Frankfurt am Main and in the United States of America at the office of the Bank of New York in New York, N.Y.
The back of the card reads...
"Original Historische Wertpapiere erhalten Sie unterwww. hwph.de amp;quot
It translates as:
"Original historical shares you can obtain underwww. hwph.de&:
Their site is in English, too. Thanks Raimer for the translation and for this information...
They are sellers of old shares. This is a collecting area that originated in Germany in the seventies, and I think Germany is still the biggest market. The US is quite strong, too. This hobby is also called "scripophily".

Hilary Clinton by Esther Crotty
This postcard came in the mail, I think as an advertisement for Eshter Crotty. com The front has Hilary Clinton, speaking for her puppet Bill, as an angel, and as the Devil!
The back has another piece of work by Esther, it's a man running over a street light bent over a road in a large city. I went to her web site and it has some fantastic artwork!
This is postmarked from NY with a 41 cent CELEBRATE stamp in 2007.

Art - Badlands Camp
Badlands Camp -
One of America's Top Western Artists, Ted Long, has this to say about his painting, "Badlands Camp" tells the story of the intense bitter life that was endured by the plains Indians during the long winter months in their teepee camps. The daily chores of gathering food, fuel, and fodder were the most important things on their minds. Some went off in search of meat and a possible better campsite. Although the teeppees looked warm and cozy, then the evening fires burned down, there was much snuggling down deep into the buffalo robes. -
This painting hangs in Wall Drug's Western Art Gallery dining room in Wall, South Dakota. - postmarked in 1979 with 10 cent 'People's Right to Petition for Redress' stamp
