Giewont is a mountain in the Tatra Mountains of Poland. It comprises three peaks: Small Giewont, Great Giewont and Long Giewont.

On Great Giewont, there is a 15 m steel cross that is the site of many religious pilgrimages. (You can see it on the right hand side of the mountain range in the above postcard).  Unfortunately, the area is also notorious for its hazardous conditions during thunderstorms, so this should be taken into consideration when traveling to that location.
