The Hunger Games is a multimedia franchise created by Suzanne Collins.
The novels in the trilogy are titled The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay.
The Hunger Games universe is set in "Panem", a country consisting of the wealthy Capitol and twelve districts in varying states of poverty. Every year, children are chosen (from The Reaping) to participate in a compulsory annual televised death match called The Hunger Games.

Going to a cinema today to see the movie! Quite excited hehehe. After watching the two first movies I read the books, I should have done it before watching anything. I hate watching a book based movie before reading the book.
For me the best series to read the books then watch the movies are The Lord of the Rings. Both the books and movies are amazing. I read all of The Hunger Games because both my daughters told me to and that I would love them. They were, of course, correct.
I do like the LOTR movies, I know many book fans will disagree about the movies... It's a shame but I have never read the books, but I have them... I know I will read them some day.

@ONeal, not you're not the last one. My friend hasn't seen it either and is not planning to watch it. I am not pleased with what I saw yesterday in a cinema ;)
