Wilhelmina (Wilhelmina Helena Pauline Maria; 31 August 1880 - 28 November 1962) was Queen regnant of the Kingdom of the Netherlands from 1890 to 1948. She ruled the Netherlands for fifty-eight years, longer than any other Dutch monarch. Her reign saw World War I and World War II, the economic crisis of 1933, and the decline of the Netherlands as a major colonial empire. Outside the Netherlands she is primarily remembered for her role in World War II, in which she proved to be a great inspiration to the Dutch resistance.

Two Cowboys from Mesa Verde Texas
Texas
The culture represented at Mesa Verde reflects more than 700 years of history. From approximately 600 A.D. through 1300 A.D. people lived and flourished in communities throughout the area, eventually building elaborate stone villages in the sheltered alcoves of the canyon walls.

For about 30 minutes my family sat around the dinner table debating if the horses were riding into the sunset, or towards the camera! One foot looks like it is facing one way, and the other foot the other direction. Also, is the tail in front, or in back. ??

Squeaker Postcard of a Moose
Moose
Souvenir Post Card
Printed in Japan.
This vintage postcard is unused.
A 'Squeaker' postcard is a card that has two pieced that have been sealed together at the edges. Inside there is a squeaker, just like then ones you find in small dog toys. There is also a small hole in the back of the postcard to let air in and out of the squeaker. When you pinch the postcard, it makes a squeaking noise!
I uploaded a short video of a few squeaker postcards here ...

Old Route 66 drawn postcard
Greetings from Illinois
Old Route 66
Route 66 was certified in 1926 when the nation adopted a numbered system of cross-country, inter-state roads. Fully paved by 1936, Route 66 became an important & legendary highway, "Immortalized' in literature, music and on television. Gradually 'replaced' by huge, homogeneous interstates, 66 was decertified in 1985, ceasing to exist 'officially'. But well over 80% of the old road is still driveable - so, travel back in time, and leave the stress behind - on the interstates .. and then, you too will say: "I still get my kicks on old Route 66!"
the back also has a hand drawn map like the one on the front of the entire Route 66, Ilinois. to California.
postmarked in 2009 with four stamps - 2 for 10cents, 1 for 4 cents and 1 for 3 cents
