Kiowa Chief Satanta, Made with a Tractor by Stan Herd

Satanta
Stan Herd created this earth-sculpture of Kiowa chief Satanta on a quarter-section of land using a tractor and disc-harrow.  The portrait was produced near Jetmore, Kansas, 16 miles north of Dodge City.  Satanta, a signer of the Medicine Lodge Peace Treaty in 1867, was known as the "Orator of the Plains."

Photograph by Tim Wenzl, 1981.

This postcard is unused.

That's pretty awesome! And much more interesting than crop circles. :)
