Both postcards are unused and were bought in 2013.

Xunantunich is an Ancient Mayan archaeological site in western Belize, about 80 miles (130 km) west of Belize City, in the Cayo District.

Xunantunich’s name means "Stone Woman" in the Maya language, and, like many names given to Maya archaeological sites, is a modern name; the ancient name is currently unknown. The "Stone Woman" refers to the ghost of a woman claimed by several people to inhabit the site, beginning in 1892. She is dressed completely in white, and has fire-red glowing eyes. She generally appears in front of "El Castillo", ascends the stone stairs, and disappears into a stone wall.

A Printed "Postcard" of Me and Kati in Walt Disney

Walt Disney World
2015

These two 'lovely' people are me and Kati.  We found a 'print your own postcard' booth in Walt Disney and of course had to make a postcard.  However, Disney's version of a postcard is a photograph.  So I took the photo to the post office, slapped a stamp on the back and mailed it to myself.  NOW it is a postcard.  ;-)

Vieste, Italy

The sender writes:

We are writing from Vieste.  This place is in the south of Italy.  As you can see in this postcard, it has many beaches...And now (summer time) it is FULL of tourists!

This card is postmarked in 2015 with only a 0,01 stamp.  There is a large X drawn under the stamp with some letters.  I am thinking this is Italy's way of saying 'postage due'.

- - - - - - -

In mediaeval times, the port of Vieste was frequently attacked by pirates and by enemies of the Kingdom of Naples. In 1554 around 5,000 inhabitants were executed by the Turks, on the grounds that they were too elderly or sick to merit transportation into slavery.

Cuba and The USA Opening Up Relations, International Postcard Week

International Postcard Week
October 4-10, 2015

Hello and Happy International Postcard Week 2015!

This postcard celebrates the re-establishing of diplomatic relations between the United States and Cuba.  For the first time since 1961, embassies have been established in each other's capital.

My husband and I had the great pleasure of visiting Cuba during these historic times.  The people there are beautiful on the outside and the inside.  In old Havana many of the buildings are being refurbished or rebuilt, and it looks amazing!

The picture on the front of this postcard was done by the renowned artist Rick Geary and symbolizes the renewed bridge between these two countries which are only 90 miles apart.
Happy Collecting,
Brenda
