Azay-Le-Rideau Chateau in France

Azay-Le-Rideau
(Indre-et-Loire)

Le chateau du XVI siecle, cote cour d'honneur, et I'lndre.
(The castle of the XVI century courtyard of honor, and I'lndre.)

This postcard was mailed from France to the USA in 2015 and is postmarked with a 0,01 stamp only.  (I think someone got away with cheating the French Postal Service.)

The Château d'Azay-le-Rideau was built between 1518 and 1527 and is considered one of the foremost examples of early French renaissance architecture.

The château is now one of many national monuments under the protection of the Centre des monuments nationaux, and also forms part of the Loire valley UNESCO World Heritage Site.
