A Florida Postcard Mailed to East Germany in 1988

This postcard is postmarked in 1988 and mailed to EAST Germany.

The sender writes in German, here is a translation ...

My dear princes (this is a pun on their last name), Warmest greetings from Miami, Florida, Yours Lilo and Josef.

It's good that we have come here in April since next month the hight of summer will be here, then the heat is said to be unbearable for us Europeans.  The fight from Amsterdam, Holland to Miami took 9 1/2 hours.  By for now, Your Bochumer (people from Bochum)

The German reunification was the process in 1990 in which the German Democratic Republic (GDR/East Germany) joined the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG/West Germany) to form the reunited nation of Germany. The end of the unification process is celebrated on 3 October (German Unity Day).
