Aplomado Falcon

Aplomado Falcons (Falco femoralis)  were once common in open grasslands and deserts from southern Texas to southern Arizona, the northernmost boundary of their range.  Today they are listed as endangered and vary rare in the U.S. and northern Mexico, but efforts are underway to reintroduce them to Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge.
