How to Make a Sock Monkey

Sock Monkey Makings

You can make this monkey from one pair of white heavy cotton worksocks. One sock becomes the head, body and legs, and the other becomes arms, tail, muzzle and ears. The eyes are buttons and the mouth is red stitching. Follow directions given in the sketches. After stuffing the body, fill the arms and tail. Sew these together, then connect muzzle and ears to body and head. Make some cute little cloths, and dress!

1. Turn one sock inside out.
2. Stitch along dotted lines.
3. Cut legs apart.
4. Remove 2 inches of stitching at this point.
5. Turn right side out.
6. Stuff head and tie.
7. Stuff body and legs.
8. Finally, resew stitching.

Ears: Cut and fold squares, connect corners and stitch.
